Enough excuses. Today is the last day you are convincing yourself for one reason or another you cannot attain your goal. From this moment on, every day will be one day closer.

Everyone is busy nowadays. Life can run you ragged if you let it. Bills, work, family, kids, errands, lack of energy, lack of time in general…. How many of these have you told yourself and accepted it to be ok to not eat better or to not exercise.

STOP

The old saying where theres a will, there’s a way is true. Listen, I understand. ALL of us have been there. When I started training, I was a senior in high school, taking 2 college classes at Niagara County Community College and doing an  ndependent study in science at Niagara University. I was working 2 jobs at this time. I also trained 6 days a week.

Before you start, yes I was young.  Yes I was living at home and had minimal bills. Yes I absolutely had more energy at that time than I do now.  But I made it work with the little time I had. Flash forward 15 years, still working over 50 hours a week, now I have my own roof over my head, tons of bills, have a beautiful wife and daughter at home, all coupled with a metabolism that is far from what it used to be, but I am also in the best shape at this current moment that I have been in over 10 years.  My life has adjusted and I have adusted my nutrition and training to ensure I keep seeing progress.

DO NOT MAKE IT HARDER THAN IT HAS TO BE.

I want you to look in the mirror and ask yourself a question, and I want you to you to be 100% honest wqith yourself. Because in the end, YOU are responsible for what YOU DO or DO NOT achieve. NO ONE ELSE.

Here is the question-

HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?

Do you kind of want it? Or do you really want it. I talk to too many people that just ‘kind of want it’. With the majority of the above excuses, one of the first questions I always ask is “what time do you wake up and what time do you go to bed?”. There is always hesitation, because you can see where I am going with this. I understand not everyone has the ability to spend 2 hours a day in the gym. I
understand some [people are not able to have a gym membership. THESE ARE NOT EXCUSES. You are not even trying. My follow up question is always “Why didn’t you wake up 15 minutes early and do a quick workout at home?”. To which there are usually more objections. To spare beating a dead horse, lets be real for a minute- if you want it bad enough you will go after it. And that is it. How do you have the nerve to be upset, mad, or give up when you aren’t even trying hard or doing what it actually takes to get there? Its not always going to be easy in the beginning, but that 15 minutes of sleep will literally be nothing once you’ve been doing it for a week and you have more energy, you start losing weight, and are feeling great. You are going to want to wake up 20 minutes early next to keep that momentum going. You have to keep putting work in to keep seeing results.

That is also why we are here. Before I had to worry about getting my daughter to and from day care, working multiple jobs and so on, there are some times where meal prep is the last thing I wanted to do. Friends, hear me out. I have already told so many of you this in the store and it is 1000% true. Before I worked at 95 Nutrition I was a customer. I prepped my own food, but with changing career paths, a new born at home, to me my time was better spent with my family and not spending hours in the kitchen. But as a competitive powerlifter, I had certain nutritional requires I needed to maintain, so I stopped in at Grand Island, looked around and was sold. Lindsey and Carm were ALWAYS so helpful, the food was delicious, and I was not missing a beat. 95 Nutrition talks about balance and flexibility while reaching your goals, and I am complete proof of that! As are so many of you.

There is a saying I want you to read. Then I want you to read it again. “If you’re not where you want to be, it’s because you’re not who you need to be right now”.  You are accountable for your success, no one else. Stop making excuses and make it work. You can find time, it doesn’t have to be much, you can find alternatives. If you believe it, you can achieve it, I believe this to be true. It will not happen over night. It may take 6 months, a year, or sometime longer, but when you want it as bad as you need to breathe, you WILL get there.
