Social Media is POWERFUL. We let it completely consume us and let it affect how we see ourselves.

I’m not as fit as her, I wish I had that car or that house or that vacation. It’s ADDICTING and a vicious cycle. Social media can trigger jealousy. You start to judge people you don’t even know. Jealousy consumed you. STOP.
So what do you do? How do you stop this vicious cycle? Social media isn’t going anywhere… Here are 4 tips on how to focus on YOU.

– Admitting you are doing it.

I want you to admit to yourself you keep comparing yourself to other peoples lives. When you realize it and it’s in your conscious.. stop. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and where you are. Accept where you are and how hard you worked to get there. Accept that you want more for yourself and have goals and start plotting how you will reach them. Be patient. Be hungry.

 List your strengths.

Sounds silly right? We are so used to listing off our weaknesses to ourselves and putting ones self down. Be proud of your strengths. Use them and create more strengths.

 No one is perfect.

So why are you so down in the dumps that you aren’t? Accept your imperfections. They make you who you are. Keep improving on you but don’t aim for perfect, it doesn’t exist. Aim for being the best version of you that you can be.

 Inspiration not comparison.

Learn the difference. Are you truly happy for someone and clapping for them or criticizing them and left empty and jealous? Choose to follow those who inspire you. Let it drive you. Clap for their accomplishments.

You can only control your life. Comparing it to anyone else’s is pure distraction. All that time you spent feeling down about someone’s life, was energy you could have spent on your own. Your own goals. Your own ambitions. Focus on you.

No more pity parties. You can be whoever you want to be. Work for it. Work damn hard for it.
